This project was submitted and won within the European Programme ”Europe for Citizens”, Sub – Programme Strand2: Democratic engagement and civic participation, Action 2.1- Town Twinning.
The main objectives of the project:
The main objectives of the project are: to raise awareness and involvement among citizens regarding volunteering work, to promote volunteering among communities, to raise awareness about the role that civil society has in integrating citizens into community’s life and in making them to participate to key events of active citizenship.
Through the events organized we want to offer citizens the opportunity to debate on the subject of Euroscepticism and the future of European Union, as the motto of the project is : ”The future begins today”.

Number of participants: 25 people from each city.
Number of directly involved participants: 300
Number of beneficiaries: 600, members of NGOs
Activities within the project: All the events will take place in Petroșani, Romania, during September 27, 2016 – October 2nd, 2016.
Events organized:
- 2 seminars – "Euroscepticism and the future of European Union” and ”Mountain sports – a way to improve civic participation and involvement” - this will take place in Parang Mountains, at 2,000 m altitude.
- 3 workshops: ”Cause for hostility towards immigrants” , ”The elderly and mental health”, ”Communication between generations – a way to avoid social isolation”
- other activities in open space, where the NGOs will present their activities in front of the community.
To promote and disseminate the results of the project, we will use informal methods as: seminars, workshops, study visits and learning activities.
